Courier Fraud Warning – Please Read & Share

We are urging residents, particularly older members of our community and their families, to be aware of courier fraud, a cruel and growing scam that is causing significant financial harm across the UK.

Criminals are targeting people—most commonly those aged over 70—by impersonating police officers or bank staff. They may stay in contact for days or even weeks, building trust before persuading victims to withdraw money or purchase high-value items such as gold or jewellery, which are then collected by a courier.
